A Birthday Gift Gone Wrong 

I was not expecting much from him, but he gave me a shower gel on my birthday. I did not say anything to him, but mentally I was hurt and I felt offended. We were financially stable, and I expected him to give me something romantic.

I even checked our bank account to confirm that we had enough money for him to have gotten me something nicer, like a bouquet of flowers. To make matters worse, the shower gel was in a fragrance that I disliked, and I knew my husband was aware of my preference. Feeling frustrated and unappreciated, I burst into tears and impulsively poured the gel down the toilet.

Just at that moment, my husband came with a happy and excited face and asked if I had found “it.” I got confused, but that’s when he revealed the surprise he had kept for me. He had cleverly concealed the engagement ring inside the bottle cap of the shower gel, thinking he would propose to me in a very unique and romantic way.

The ring landed in the toilet due to my impulsive response, and it was left for my husband to retrieve himself. The situation was embarrassing and funny, and I could not help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. Despite the initial misunderstanding, I was touched by my husband’s creative and thoughtful gesture, and I appreciated the effort he had put into planning a special surprise for me.
