This is my dad helping set up for my mom’s wedding. Even though they’ve been divorced for 16 years, they’ve never stopped showing up for each other in meaningful ways. From spending every Christmas morning together to traveling across the country and supporting their kids and grandkids at countless games, events, and milestones—they’ve always been there, side by side, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.

Their relationship may not follow the traditional mold, but it’s a powerful reminder that just because two people aren’t meant to be together doesn’t mean they can’t still care for and support one another. It’s not the usual kind of love story, but it’s one that continues to leave a lasting impact.

Words can’t fully capture how much this thoughtful gesture meant to my boys. Jordan and Jaxson have a special love for the trash truck—they wait on the doorstep every week just to catch a glimpse. It’s become a sweet routine: the driver pulls up, they wave excitedly, he honks in return, and off he goes.

But today was different. We weren’t home when he came by, and when Jordan went outside, he found a surprise waiting for him—his very own toy trash truck, left behind by one of his heroes. That someone would go out of their way to brighten my kids’ day like that is something I’ll hold onto forever.

It’s a beautiful reminder to be thankful for the people God places in our path—and how even the smallest act of kindness can leave a lasting impact. 💕

I just need a moment to share what this photo means to me. When I was five, I made this paper tie for my dad as a Father’s Day gift. I poured my little heart into it and felt so proud when I gave it to him. He smiled and told me, “I’m going to wear this on your wedding day.” I laughed, not thinking much of it, and went about my day.

He hung that tie on his bedroom mirror, where it stayed for years. Every now and then, he’d dust it off and remind me of his promise. By the time I was a teenager, I’d just roll my eyes and say, “Okay, Dad,” not really believing he meant it.

Years later, my parents moved into a new house, and the tie was nowhere to be seen. When I asked about it, my dad said it must have gotten lost in the move. I didn’t think much of it until I got engaged. I teased him, saying, “Guess you won’t be wearing that tie after all!”

Fast forward to our father-daughter dance on my wedding night. He reached into his jacket and pulled out the very same paper tie. Turns out, he hadn’t lost it at all—he had tucked it away, waiting for the perfect moment. That dance, that gesture, is something I’ll carry with me forever. Love you so much, Dad ❤️

I didn’t realize just how tough of a day my daughter was having until I came across this photo. My youngest was recently diagnosed with autism. Most days, she navigates the world just fine—but some days are harder than others.

Yesterday, the Wheatland Fire Authority visited the preschool at Wheatland Elementary. I wasn’t sure how she’d handle the change, but I dropped her off with the hope that it would go smoothly. New faces, new activities—things most kids would find exciting—can sometimes feel overwhelming for her.

That’s when this kind firefighter stepped in. He let her sit with him, snuggled up in his lap, giving her a moment to feel safe and calm in the middle of all the activity. He just instinctively knew she was struggling and gave her the space and comfort she needed.

Later, I was able to reach out to him and learned he has a loved one with autism, which helped him understand and connect with her in that moment.

As a parent, this journey can bring a lot of uncertainty. You never know whether people will respond to your child with kindness or with misunderstanding. But yesterday, it was pure compassion—and that means everything. 💛

I got pulled over tonight because one of my headlights was out. I explained to Officer Adrian McKinney that I had already bought a replacement bulb, but hadn’t been able to find anyone to help me install it. He asked me to grab the bulb, then had me pop the hood—and without hesitation, he got to work.

He spent a good 15–20 minutes wrestling with that headlight. It was hot, humid, and dark outside, and he even burned his fingers trying to get it done. But he didn’t complain once. He didn’t have to help—he could’ve just written me a ticket and moved on. Instead, he chose to lend a hand when I needed it most.

Officer McKinney truly embodied what it means to protect and serve, and I’m beyond grateful for his kindness and willingness to help. Thank you so much, Officer McKinney!

My neighbor is 96 years old and lives up on the third floor. This little garden belongs to him. When we first moved in, he generously offered me a section to tend, telling me I was welcome to water it and pick whatever I liked.

His caretaker mentioned that it’s tough for him to make it downstairs these days, so we decided to plant sunflowers—hoping they’d grow tall enough for him to see from his window.

And guess what? One finally bloomed! I called him and told him to take a look outside. The happiness in his voice was absolutely heartwarming. Moments like this are everything. 🥰

I always think my dogs are probably annoying to all my neighbors and we try to be considerate as possible…this one car stops in front of our house every single day and honks to call the dogs outside into the front yard. Today I went over to introduce myself and they had their paralyzed senior dachshund in the front seat. They told me that this is the highlight of his day to take a ride around the block and come see my dogs. He was sitting on his daddy’s lap so happy and barking back at them…made my day ❤️

As I was sitting eating my double cheeseburger at Wendy’s, I glanced over at this older couple, and thought ‘That’s sweet’ And continued with my meal. But when I looked again, in between bites, I saw this gentleman feeding his wife. My whole life I’ve yearned for a love that strong. The gentleman got up from his seat to throw his food away and I couldn’t resist asking how long he and his wife had been married. He looked at me and asked me to guess his age but not to guess too low. After a few guesses he told me he was 96 and his wife is 93 who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. This is their date night. He also told me that if they make it till June, they will be celebrating 75 years of marriage!
Getting all the way to the end of the line with the person you started out with is one of the most glorious things on the face of this earth. Could a couple be more blessed than to have that happen? To share a deep love and bond that only grows as we age, that is a beautiful thing.

On my flight back to Georgia I saw this man, who was a stranger to this woman, offer to help her because she was pregnant and alone on the flight and her son was upset and fussy. He did not complain, he just told her that he was a DAD, and wanted to help her so she could rest. This MAN walked the aisle most of the flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta comforting this woman’s son as if he was his own…I was in tears….because it showed me today that there are still GOOD people out there in a world full of turmoil. Big UPS to this DAD and all the DADS out there…you are the real MVPS!
