Trump Organization Enters Telecom Market with ‘Trump Mobile’ and $499 T1 Smartphone
On June 16, the Trump Organization announced its entry into the telecommunications industry with the debut of Trump Mobile, a mobile phone service that includes a new branded smartphone and data plan.
The service offers a monthly package called “The 47 Plan,” named in reference to Donald Trump’s position as the 47th president of the United States. Priced at $47.45 per month, the plan includes unlimited calls, texts, and data, along with extras like roadside assistance and a telehealth and pharmacy service, according to the company’s official website.
Accompanying the service is the T1 smartphone, which features a gold-toned metal body engraved with an American flag. The phone is set to launch in September at a price of $499.
During a launch event at Trump Tower in New York, Donald Trump Jr. described the offering as a comprehensive solution for customers.
“We’re rolling out a complete set of products,” he said, “so people can access telemedicine, get car assistance, and enjoy international texting — all for one flat monthly fee.”
The Trump Organization emphasized that both the smartphone production and customer service operations would be based in the U.S., branding the initiative as a patriotic alternative to major global tech brands. DTTM Operations, which handles licensing for President Trump’s trademarks, has also filed new trademark applications for “Trump” and “T1” in connection with mobile services and devices.
The U.S. smartphone market is one of the most competitive in the world, largely dominated by Apple and Samsung, whose devices are primarily manufactured in Asia. Analysts note that entering the telecom space is a bold move due to the industry’s high operational costs and stiff competition.
This venture follows other recent expansions by the Trump brand into sectors like digital media and cryptocurrency, as it continues to diversify its business interests.
