I feel incredibly lucky to be able to clearly visualize my ideas and then get them down on paper. It is so satisfying when the final result is exactly what I envisioned. However, it can be incredibly frustrating when the results don’t match exactly what I had in mind.

I have a full-time job, so my days are usually stretched to 12-13 hours of work and commute. After focusing on my work, turning to photography makes for a refreshing change, especially when it’s something I’m passionate about. Before I start working on the comic, I clean up my office and play music. I like having background noise; I don’t deserve silence. Sometimes I’ll even tune into old comedy reenactments just for the atmosphere they create.

I prefer traditional tools like pencils, ink pens of different sizes and Copic markers. However, for the sake of quality, I started using software programs to edit and edit my images.

Whenever I have an idea or an image of a joke in my mind, I quickly sketch it on a post-it note or piece of paper nearby and slip it into my pocket Back home I deposit these doodles in a tin box where they accumulate over time. It’s a repository of ideas, some of which have been forgotten, and it comes with pleasant surprises when I hit a creative block.
