Three bulls heard the rancher was bringing another bull onto the ranch

The Lesson of the Bulls

Three bulls had been sharing a pasture for years, each with their own group of cows.

The oldest, there for five years, stood proudly and declared, “I’ve worked hard for these 100 cows. No way I’m giving any to a newcomer.”

The second, with three years under his belt and 50 cows to his name, added, “I’ve earned mine too. I’m not handing over a single one.”

The youngest bull, who’d only been there a year and had just 10 cows, said firmly, “I may be smaller, but I’m not giving up my cows either.”

Then came a rumble from the road. An enormous 18-wheeler pulled into the field and out stepped the largest bull any of them had ever seen. He weighed nearly 5,000 pounds, and the steel ramp groaned under his weight.

The first bull quickly changed his tune. “You know, maybe I could share a few cows.”

The second nodded, suddenly thoughtful. “Actually, taking care of all mine is a lot of work. No problem handing a few over.”

They looked over at the youngest bull, who was stomping the ground, shaking his head, and snorting like he was ready for a fight.

The first bull warned him, “Kid, don’t be reckless. Give up a few cows. It’s not worth it.”

The youngest bull replied, “Oh, he can have every single one of my cows—I just want him to know I’m a bull too.
